Celebrate the holidays with “El Potrillo” during his live concert on Wednesday, November 27th at the State Farm Arena. Latin artist and ranchera heartthrob Alejandro Fernandez visits the Rio Grande Valley once again, touring for his latest album, Confidencias. The performance will include a duet of the hit “Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti” with pop artist Christina Aguilera.

Fernandez has ventured into various genres of Latin American music such as bolero, Latin and Mexican pop, mariachi and ranchera since the early 1990s. Despite changes in his music style, he has remained hugely successful, selling over 30 million albums worldwide and constantly filling venues at every location he visits.

A Push in the Right Direction

In his youth, Fernandez performed onstage on numerous occasions alongside his father.  After studying engineering, his father, Vicente Fernandez, one of Latin America’s greatest ranchera artists, encouraged him to consider a music industry career. Following in Vicente’s footsteps, Alejandro made his debut at the age of 20 with a focus on traditional Mexican folk music.  His skyrocketing success and fame in the entertainment industry pushed him to mix up his style. Earning his status as an accomplished stand-alone artist, Alejandro achieved a reputation not overshadowed by his father’s own fame.

One Voice to Rule Them All

Described as having a light tenor tessitura with a spin of tenor-type influence, Alejandro’s voice is considered to be within the most comfortable vocal range and is capable of handling large musical ranges. His versatile vocal talent allows him to easily adapt to multiple genres which is a feat that has helped grow his fan base and musical repertoire.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 8:30 p.m., so don’t be late!
